Discover the authentic taste of Tirunelveli Halwa, a renowned delicacy that hails from the historic city of Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu, India.

The halwa was first prepared by Rajput cooks hired by the zamindar of Chokkampatti, a village near Tirunelveli. Enchanted by the sweets he tasted in Kasi, the zamindar insisted that Jegan Singh’s family make them in his palace. Later, Singh moved to Tirunelveli. The water from the Thamirabarani River is also said to give the halwa its distinctive taste.
